Sir Elton John, Rod Stewart, Kanye West and James Blunt will perform at Princess Diana's tribute concert.The late Diana's sons Princes William and Harry have invited a host of musical stars to appear at this summer's Concert For Diana, including Meatloaf, Bryan Adams, Pharrell Williams, Orson, Joss Stone, Take That and Keane.Elton, who sang at Diana's 1997 funeral, said he was "thrilled" to be taking part. Duran Duran singer Simon Le Bon is set to perform a duet with Justin Timberlake. Newly reformed Take That revealed they idolised Diana, who was killed in a Paris car crash in 1997. Mark Owen said: "Princess Diana was such an amazing woman. I think it's lovely the princes want to do something to remember her."Organisers are trying to convince Dire Straits - one of Diana's favourite bands - to appear and the Spice Girls are also rumored to be reuniting for a special performance. The concert will take place at the new Wembley Stadium on July 1 - which would have been Diana's 46th birthday. Prince William said: "We want it to represent exactly what our mother would have wanted. A church service wasn't enough. We wanted this big concert full of energy, fun and happiness. It has to be the best birthday present she ever had."Tickets for the event sold out within 20 minutes last December. Money raised from the event will go to several charities, including the Diana Memorial Fund.

Sir Elton John celebrated his 60th birthday in style by throwing a glitzy party at a New York cathedral followed by concert at Madison Square Garden.The flamboyant singer kicked off his birthday weekend by hosting a lavish bash at the Cathedral Church of St John The Divine on Saturday. A host of celebrities were among the 400 guests, including Donatella Versace, Pierce Brosnan, Yoko Ono, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and newlywed Elizabeth Hurley, who arrived wearing a stunning white Versace gown. During the evening Elton's partner David Furnish, who organised the glamorous event, introduced a short film tribute, featuring messages from Sir Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Celine Dion and Jim Carrey.The celebrations continued on Sunday, Elton's actual birthday,when the star performed at the world famous Madison Square Garden, which also poignantly marked his 60th show at the venue. Elton was introduced by former US president Bill Clinton, who congratulated him on "joining my favourite club, the 60-year-olds", and then launched into his set with 'Sixty Years On'. He continued to wow the audience with a collection of his biggest hits, including 'Rocket Man', 'Benny and the Jets', 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me' and 'Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting'. During the performance, Elton was joined on stage by surprise guests Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams and his songwriting musical partner Bernie Taupin,who led the crowd in a rendition of 'Happy Birthday'. Elton concluded his sold-out concert by performing 'Your Song', telling his fans "Thank you for making my birthday special".

Sir Elton John's Caribbean show may be cancelled over concerns he could tempt locals to become gay.The singer is due to headline the Plymouth Jazz Festival next month, but the Archdeacon of Trinidad and Tobago insists Elton should be banned because his sexuality does not conform to biblical teaching. Archdeacon Philip Isaac said: "The artiste is one of God's children and while his lifestyle is questionable he needs to be ministered to. His visit to the island can open the country to be tempted towards pursuing his lifestyle."Openly gay people can be barred from entering Tobago under the island's immigration law, and homosexuality is illegal in other parts of the Caribbean. However, promoters of the festival insist Elton will close the event on April 29. Festival organiser Anthony Maharaj said: "Elton John is coming as what he is, one of the world greatest performers. He has performed in every country around the world. In Christian countries there has never been an objection. He is not coming here to preach about what lifestyle people should have.This country should be honoured to have Sir Elton John perform in Tobago."Elton has declined to comment. Diana Ross, Mary J. Blige and Gladys Knight are also due to perform at the three-day event. Last year, Elton said religion should be banned because it "promotes the hatred and spite against gays" and turns people into "hateful lemmings".

A host of stars were invited, including Kate Moss, Sir Paul McCartney and daughter Stella, Elle Macpherson, Hugh Grant, Sting, Kelly Osbourne and Daniel Craig - who looked dapper in a brown pinstripe 40s suit, complete with trilby hat. Guests sipped vintage champagne and dined on lobster and chicken. They were also treated to mini-birthday cakes topped with initials of the birthday girl and boy.The highlight of the evening was when 'East Enders' star Barbara Windsor burst out of a huge cake on stage dressed as a pink fairy to sing 'Happy Birthday'.The glamorous event was just a warm-up for Elton's extravagant 60th New York birthday bash later this month. The singer, who hits the milestone age on March 25, has been planning the party for two years.

Robbie Williams is to strip at Sir Elton John's 60th birthday party.The flamboyant singer is celebrating reaching the landmark age on March 25 with a special performance at New York's Madison Square Garden. It will be the 60th time he has played at the world famous venue. Elton is said to have asked his friend Robbie, 32, to perform on the night and make the day extra-special, and the 'Angles' singer has obliged by offering to do a striptease while performing classic Tom Jones hit 'You Can Leave Your Hat On'. The song is synonymous with stripping after it was used to soundtrack a male stripping scene in hit British comedy film 'The Full Monty', which starred Robert Carlyle. A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Robbie knows this is one gift Elton won't be able to out do. The pair love to shock each other, so Elton will probably already be cooking up something for Robbie's birthday next month." Robbie and openly gay Elton - whose partner is film producer David Furnish previously fell out after Robbie, in his autobiography 'Feel', described the pop legend as "weird", and claimed he "kidnapped" him when he was suffering from alcoholism, forcing him to go to rehab. However, the two have now patched up their differences and are best pals again. The special birthday concert is to be broadcast as a 90-minute TV special on British network ITV.

He told Britain's Radio 1: "I've let myself go recently so I'm going on a diet and making an effort to do more exercise so that I'm looking good for my birthday."Elton, who is famed for his lavish bashes, has revealed he and his partner David Furnish are planning something extra-special for the big day. However, the 'Rocket Man' singer is refusing to give much away about the party. He explained: "We have a trick up our sleeves for my 60th celebrations which we have been planning for two years. I'm really excited about it. The only thing I am going to tell you about it is that it has a New York theme."
